AbsolutelyThe really awesome thing is that private gets you the same operating theatre, same surgeon, same theatre staff, same medical instruments, same hospital, same operating table as used by NHS customers.......oh and you also get a room to yourself and your own nurse who doesn’t mind smiling on account of her wages you are funding
The biggest outlay from the NHS to the majority of UK citizens is in birth and end of life care, if you have a long term condition this makes it even better value for money. I think you're probably doing ok regarding what you've paid in what you'll get out of the NHS.Indeed it is but some idiots have to pay for it sometime...and as you may be able to tell, value for money is one thing I have yet to see...

ok I guess you're not one of the majority I was referring to and somewhat 'on the fringe' in your outlook. I wish you good healthWell I was born in my parents' bedroom in 1962 and have never spent any time in a hospital and hope never to ( i think I had a broken arm set in the late 70's after my mother had made me sleep on it until morning after falling down the stairs at about 2 am). I have found most of the GP's and DN's I have met to be either completely useless or so closed minded that change seems impossible for them to even consider. I fully intend to end my life at a time of my choosing too.. so as far as I can seen the return on my investment will be pretty poor.. still hope some of you others can get some value out of it.
I have not received any benefit from what I paid into the NHS pre 1970, I think my NHS card is still valid as I was supposed to hand it it when I left the UK but did not.so as far as I can seen the return on my investment will be pretty poor.. still hope some of you others can get some value out of it.
A logical realist you mean?ok I guess you're not one of the majority I was referring to and somewhat 'on the fringe' in your outlook. I wish you good health
If you have ever come up close to a perforating ulcer on a diabetic foot as I have then you would not take this subject lightly.
I would think a logical realist would get the trade off of inputting and getting outputs but realise nothing is perfectA logical realist you mean?
I'm afraid I and my family have experienced for the most part pretty second rate service from "Our NHS". I was in the process of writing a long and detailed post but it was such a tale of woe I stopped..I would think a logical realist would get the trade off of inputting and getting outputs but realise nothing is perfect
I find myself smiling. The type of response I would have expected from a politician.I'm afraid I and my family have experienced for the most part pretty second rate service from "Our NHS". I was in the process of writing a long and detailed post but it was such a tale of woe I stopped..
I was very lucky to be in the position that I had to pay quite a lot of tax when I was working so stumped up quite happily as a true champagne socialist.. as I have aged I have slightly amended my viewpoint and realise that a whole lot of that money has been wasted by profligate politicians who are never really accountable for their actions. I'm afraid that has made me grow older, wiser and far more cynical than my younger self.

Haha. You at least understand. We are all coping with this horrible disease. I am no different. It was an amusing appointment that is all. I really didn't mean to offend so many especially with my foot remark. I am new to this. I failed to understand what she was doing to be honest. I expect to be burned at the stake any day now.lol! I fear there is a lack of humour on this forum sometimes, we all get it's a serious topic but I'll keep my pitchfork in the shed
It's okay. I understand. My bowel is covered in ulcers (Ulcerative colitis.) A very serious condition but I still joke about having it. Thats life.Exactly.
My response was purely to explain why things are done that can seem quite bizarre / heath robinson at first glance, not to have a pop.Haha. You at least understand. Exactly. That was the odd part. Is the vague attitude. It just amused me a little. My response was purely to explain why things are done that can seem quite bizarre / heath robinson at first glance, not to have a pop.
Ive been having them done for over 20 years and it took some time before I know what the heck they were up to
Do they still do that where you live?Haha. You at least understand. We are all coping with this horrible disease. I am no different. It was an amusing appointment that is all.
