Saxagliptin

Afternoon everyone...
Starting taking Saxagliptin 5 days ago, and reduced my Metformin from 4 a day to 2.
So far I don't seem to be seeing any results...infact my bg seems to have gone up!
I'm assuming this is because of the reduction of Metformin.
Does the Saxagliptin begin to work immediately, or am I being a bit too keen?
 
HI. My GP said my Sitagliptin (same group as Saxagliptin) effect might take 6 months but it took only 2 days. I think it should have an effect after 1-2 weeks? Note that it only reduces spikes.
 
hello, I was on Sitagliptin for almost 6 months, and my bg. results were not good. Now I have just started on Nazdol MR 30mg Gliclazide. Just one with food in the mornings. Not sure yet if its working. I go to see my nurse next week. My morning bg. test before breakfast is around 9.6. After breakfast of porridge, a blood test before lunch is 6.4. which is great , and then before tea and bedtime it goes up to 9.0+.
I came off Metformin, it was great for my bg. results but did dyer thing to my tummy.
I really feel so down about it all just now.
