Thanks Denise,

That gives me a clue about what to ask for when I go back to the GP. They've done tests for anemia and B12 deficiency. That was all fine. Blood sugar levels aren't running high. Will ask GP to check for thyroid/Vit D

I agree about having Vitamin D checked.

You mentioned transient global amnesia - that is very commonly associated with the use of statin drugs. See Dr Graveline's site about his own problems with this condition:

From what I've seen here, it seems like all diabetics in the UK are given statins as a matter of course, whether they have high cholesterol, heart problems, whatever. If you are on a statin, I'd be very suspicious that it was the cause of all your symptoms.
