Our son is type 1 for just over 12 months his bg goes from 8_9 normally to 12_16 during school holidsys we rang our dsn on tuesday for advice still awaiting call back .hopefully his levels will go back to normal levels now he is going back to school.does anyone else have experience of this please because we are worried about the six week break coming soon any advice would be gratefully received

Do you know what the root cause is? Is it because he doesn't go out much and is generally less active during the holidays?

Another lady here @martina also has a child that has the same reaction.

Her child is on a pump though and can if necessary have a different profile set up for holidays/weekends and schooldays.

It isn't basic as kids at school have differing amounts of adrenalin and also growth spurts and hormones changing all the time as well but you are not the only one.

I know @martina sometimes struggles and has asked for help previously on here but got very little response.

It is good that you have identified a difference - that is a starter... It is going to be a case of adjusting insulins, so you will need to be confident with changing them.
