Scrabble, hats and apple pie

I saw a documentary last year? About a bunch of "survivalists" in the States.. They were stocked up for every eventuality, should society break down.. They even had "safe houses" with an arsenal of weapons equipped for the power cuts, hidden in the back of beyond!?
I could well believe it. But, lol, It's a bit pessimistic! ;)

Is apple pie really American though? Didn't apple pies originate in Holland or England, but were taken to America by Pilgrim fathers, or someone?
 
I have been wearing my rain HAT, had to SCRABBLE about the ground to collect the apples brought down from the trees by the windy wet weather. Going to make APPLE PIE for the family visiting at weekend.

Do I get a prize for mentioning all three keywords in same post?

Ah the history of apple pie... I thought it may have originated from Germany??

Done a little Googling & came up with this "indie" "shoe gazing" five piece...

.....or?! In 1621 a bunch of guys in funny hats sat down to lunch with the "locals"..
After an apple pie desert, they decided to have a game of scrabble. The game got a little competitive towards the end as bets were placed on who would win..? Keys to boats & even a whole continent were thrown into the "bowl"..

The guys with the funny hats jumbled the tiles & found a few more letters up the sleeve to lay the words "land grab" on the board. & that's why we only have tepees at European festivals.... o_O :p
