Sd Codefree Bg Meter Problems

I received my new machine a couple of days ago and am able to test without any problem.
However, I must have accidentally set an alarm, which went off yesterday morning 2 hrs after my breakfast.
It hasn't done this since and I've tried and tried to set it again, but with no luck.
I have to say that the instructions aren't particularly user friendly, but there you go.
Please would anyone be able to offer help?

Thanks in advance....

I have a sd codefree meter and never realised there was an alarm on it. Hopefully someone can help

I admit that I just use my meter to test. Never realise there were other options on it

I was intreged so I got out the booklet and did what it said, to press the on off button for 3 seconds. All that happened was to indicate to enter a test strip. I did this on a few occasions, and not once did it show anything apart from being ready to enter a test strip to test

@ally1 Press the button for three seconds and it goes into strip standby mode. Press the button again for three seconds.

If you don't enter that test strip, it will go into the count down for self destruct!!;)

Thank you for helping me. I hang my head in shame, I read the booklet and was even more confused, I can never read instructions and follow what they mean. Eventually I worked it out. I realised that once I pressed the monitor on as if to test, then I tried pressing again for 3 seconds and hey presto it worked. Before I was pressing the button for 3 seconds before the monitor was switched and could not understand why I was getting nowhere. I have managed to change the date and time. I did, t go any further because I would have been even more confused

No need to feel the "shame". These things come with 3 buttons (two of which with just an arrow?) that are not always intuitive..
Like me, I'm sure @Squire Fulwood as another guy can "occaisionaly" guilty of not reading the owner's manual.... ;)

As a matter of principle, I refused to be told what to do by my meter.

I think I might be getting bossier as I get older. ;) I bet everyone's glad about that last bit?
