SD Codefree Meter

Ex-pat moaners!!
I am an ex-pat living in Spain and enjoy good health care. However, as I have type 2, I am unable to have test strips prescribed. I changed to Codefree due to cost and bought my monitor from the UK. I have had no problems so far apart from being unable to purchase the optional USB connection cable to transfer data to my PC. I have contacted the manufacturers agent in Germany without success, (there is no agent in Spain) and I am now having protracted conversation with the manufacturer in Korea, who can supply, but require a non CC transaction. I am awaiting details to enable my bank to make a transfer!! Has anyone out there had success in getting this unusual cable? It appears to be an USB to small stero audio plug which I cannot find here in Spain. The software which you can download free, seems to offer some good ways of presenting readings to your dietician.
 
I have just gone to the site. Its much cheaper to order direct than through Ebay or Amazon. I have bookmarked it for when I need it.
 
The lancets are £4.99 delivered on Amazon. Are you sure you have your price of £5.60 right or is that for non-diabetics?

Did I not read you were getting yours on prescription Lucy?
 
Not yet. I am seeing the nurse tomorrow and will hopefully come out with a meter and some strips. But I dont think they will give me enough strips, so I am keeping the Codefree meter and backup strips, just in case.

Unless that is not a good idea?

I dont know what sort of meter I am getting, or if the nurse can overturn the doctors advice that I have one and refuse to give me one, or if it is only a temporary prescription for strips if I get any.

If I get prescribed a meter with more expensive strips, but have to buy most of the strips myself, I will have to use my Codefree as well.
