Do you have the manual for the Codefree? It should have been in the box with the meter. If not, I'll dig mine out and try to help.
I bought a cable from SME diagnostics on Amazon.

Switch on the machine by briefly pressing the centre button, then to go into settings, press and hold the centre button for a second or two. Keep pressing the centre button through beep setting and hypo setting, then you reach the year. Adjust the year by using the arrows. Press centre button again to get to preferred format d-m or m-d, toggle back and forth with the arrows. Press centre again for month and then day, using the arrows to adjust each. Carry on in the same manner using the centre button to advance to next feature and the arrows for adjustment. Hope that helps. If you need it, here’s the link to the on line instruction manual:

many thanks for the help yes i do have the handbook got to put this down to my own fault will try the suggestion for resetting once again many thanks

When I got mine I did not bother doing any settings or down loading the software I have never set the date or time etc. I am only interested in what my blood levels are when I test it

@Pinkorchid I'm the same. I didn't set anything apart from the date and time as I don't always update my spreadsheet when I take the readings. I actually sent my cable back as the software didn't work very well on my ancient laptop

Yes i am now in agreement with that its the readings that matter now i just have to try and make sense of them!
