Just had the results of my last HB1Ac, just two months after diagnosis... 6.1 (down from 10.9).

Whoo Hoo!

Not bad for two months, would have loved to have joined the 5% club, but have to wait 3 months for my next one, I'll get it next time.

My fatty liver continues it's reversal, with even better figures this time. My cholesterol levels remain hunky dory too! This all thanks to low carb and LOTS and LOTS of saturated fats.

On a negative note. Just watched the latest, 'eat saturated fat and clog your arteries' advert, I'm getting worried that trying to follow a high fat diet will become more and more difficult as time goes on. My local Morrison's doesn't stock full (or even medium) fat cream cheese, just light and extra light. How long will we be able to avoid carbs before legislation or 'responsible' supermarkets deny us the foods we need?

Anyway, but about to have some blackened cajun chicken (skin on :)) and a diet coke to celebrate...

Take care all, stay low carb :D

Brilliant (but hardly surprising) yes I'm waiting for the Carb Police to come calling and tell me everything I'm eating is wrong. I am trying to work out a way to print my BG graphs out onto a baseball bat

Congratulations Doc. Great results. Know what you mean about the bloomin advert though. It makes my heart sink to see it. As you say, soon there won't be full fat anything in the shops :(

Caitycakes x

Great results Doc, you're a star!
We're keeping a space warm for you in the 5's next time

I know what you mean about the FSA ads - I despair of the stupidity behind this campaign. You can be certain that the image of the clogged u-bend will stick in peoples minds for a generation to come and their health will suffer for it. Only hope is that the fat in the jug came from between the ears of the people behind it and they might start to think more clearly now.

Fat chance.

Thanks for the kind words. Still a long way to go but there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Tried to get the doc to increase the Metformin, on the logic that the more insulin sensitive I am, the less beta cells I'm burning out.

But she wouldn't said it was doing it's job and that I seem to still have pancreatic function. Yeah and the point is that I want to keep it not burn it out!!!

Should I consider buying it privately?
