My brother has been having blood tests recently for high blood pressure. He got a call form his surgery to say he needed to come in to see the diabetes nurse. He is worried that he is now diabetic. He says he has none of the class signs, thirst, weight loss, constant toilet in the night etc. What does anyone think?

I would say that he shouldn't worry about it and just go in and see what they have to say. Better to be informed than to go undiagnosed. Some people seem to only see the warning signs after they have actually been diagnosed (hind sight being 20/20).

firstly he should try not to worry but nobody here or your brother could possibly second guess what the nurse wants to speak with your brother for but what I can say is that when I was diagnosed I was not displaying any classic symptoms of daibetes. also daibetes can be genetic and rum in families.
your brother could be diabetic or maybe pre-daibetic or even not daibetic at all he will just have to wait and speak to the nurse to find out.
if he is diabetic its not the end of the world point in him the direction of this forum.

I didn't have any symptoms either, so sorry, that's not a guide. No point worrying about it either way. If he's diagnosed then point him in the forum's direction and we'll try and give him some support. :|
