Barb,
I'm so pleased you feel better, and feel 30 years younger-know exactly how you feel, mine was immediate as well!
I've been really interested in you recent postings, cause I wasn't sure whether the awful stomach and bowel probs I had at the time were due to Lantus. I used to take my dose in the morning, and I could usually guage how I was going to feel on a paricular day, by how my bowel movements were. Sorry that sounds revolting! I'd feel so nauseous on many days, usually when my motions were frequent and loose(sorry again). I had a lot of upper-stomach pain too and was under a gastro-specialist at my local hospital. I was too nervous to go through the camera down the throat procedure, and relied on Omeprazole. I wonder if patients taking their dose at night, sleep through the worst of the side-effects,maybe that's why some people are ok on it.
I stay on this forum for people like you Barbs, it helps me cope with what happened to me, cause the psychological effects and anger are not waining. The more stories like yours that I hear, the more it makes me determined to do more. I really want to find out why certain people have these problems and others don't, but meanwhile the problems associated with Lantus pariticularly, need to be recognised and taken seriously by the medical profession.
My husband's also read your post and sends his best wishes as I do, and very good luck with your DSN
-print some stuff off the net if you can to support what you're saying.
Good luck too Ham!
