So after years on Metformin and for the last 18 months my bloods being overly Erdrich for no significant reason, I was chatting to a colleague (I work in private healthcare) and he suggested seeing a gastroenterologist. The outcome was a suggestion to stop Metformin and purchase via a private script a drug called semaglutide.
It cost £430 for 3 months worth but I was determined to do what was needed so went for it. A side effect of this drug is it lowers your appetite quite a bit ( I’m a really foodie) but in the space of 2 months I am now consistently recording 6.4 - 7.6 bloods where previously they renamed from 8.4 - 13.8 (not good) anyway I’ve since spoken to my GP who is brilliant and she has now prescribed these for me so I guess I’m say if you are struggling, talk to your GP and ask about Semaglutide. It’s a 14mg tablet build you do a monrh on 3.5mg then a month on 7mg before moving to 14mg this is to help build you up. It’s also possible to have it as an injectable which you take once a week.
I’m seeing great results and have lost over a stone as well.
Thought I would share this with you all

Several GPs and specialists have concerns about this class of drug around how log you can keep the weight off, do you need to take it for the rest of your like, are there unwanted very long term side effects (decades).
Do your own research before taking medicines because they all have side effects.

I’m on the injectable semaglutide, do you have any side affects from the tablet form?
