Hi, and welcome to the forum!

I understand what you mean, and dont worry, your not he only one. I have a friend who is also a type 1 diabetic and when we were in class the other day, he did his bm because he thought that he was hypo. His bm was 5.8 but he must have had the symptoms bacause his body is used to a high blood sugar, like SarahQ explained.

After i was diagnosed, i was realy scared of my bm going too low that i also had carbs to get it up. I talked to my diabetic nurse about it and i was put onto a different insulin - Novorapid and levemir, 4 injections a day to have better control. Speak to your diabetic specialist about it and she should have a few ideas to help you.

Hope all goes well, Michelle

Hey I know how ya feel Im 15 (: (old name was shadow)
I was diagnosed back in late october and really still dont have the best of control, it could be say 16-17 before my evening meal then about low 4's and feel hypo. As it's already been said, you start feeling like that because you are not uswed to that level yet.

Btw I thought I would tell you im writing this before I go to school lol

My daughter (age 9) was diagnosed 3 months ago. I'm sure your not the only one in your home worried sick. Try to talk to your parents/guardian about how you feel. Try and find out if there is a young persons support group in your area. I know they are few and far between. As I am a qualified youth worker, I am hoping to set one up in my area (south Wales). Contact your local youth service and ask them if they can help. Talking to anyone will help, I have tried to talk to as many people who have any experience of diabetes as possible. Stay positive.

Hi i'm 23 and was diagnosed at 13, i also find that if i've been running high i can feel hypo at normal ranges, now i find that if i'm running at a sort of 6-8 for a while i sometimes don't feel hypo until i've dipped under 2.5 so that's a bit scarey sometimes. You haven't been diagnosed for very long so your body is still adjusting to everything.

Hi welcome to the forum
I was diagnosed at 7 years old now 25, I've been through the teenage years with the diabetes all over the place same position your in but please don't get scared of letting it drop, even if you test 10 times in one day just to keep yourself reassured do it. Your body will get used to the lower range trust me and it will get easier.
I had a friend exactly like you and he got really silly with it constantly eating sweet things to increase his BS but in the end all he did was confuse the hell out of his body and trust me the constant swinging back and forth will never get your body settled into a normal rhythm!
Always around if you need some help!
