Hi guys I'm about to start a new job and I'm after a little advice about insulin pump control.
I will be working days and night shifts 3 on and 3 off. How do you guys manage your insulin.

Cheers x

I used to alter my rates- have one when my hubby worked earlys so were up at 4.30 and on late shift we slept in so my whole morning rates were delayed by 5 hours from midnight to 10am.

Because of my dawn and waking phenomenon I have to apply those rates before hand no matter what time I wake up..

Hiw long have you been on pump, would you consider flipping your rates over so that they reflect the working/sleep pattern but on nights instead?

Would you rememberto change basal rates over?

I know when hubbybworked nights I also had to change my bolus's as well....

Not much help as it was changing sleep due to hubby, not me actually changing my work...

Someone will come along soon that works shifts.

You will need 3 basal patterns so happy testing :) work days, work nights and days off.
