Hi all. Since having Covid my levels are still high and erratic. I’ve now got severe foot pain and need some recommendations for shoes. I know we all have different needs but it’s becoming a real problem. I was on a very low dose of Pregabalin ( 75 a day ) and am now on 200 and it’s not touched it. I’m seeing the diabetes nurse soon after moving to a new area, so I hope she can help. But in the meantime I need to try something as I’m running out of options for shoes to walk or even drive in. I stand up all day in a school and it’s becoming unbearable.

i find Sketchers the best I have to be carefull as I only have 1 foot , I’ve tried many different types of shoes and found sketchers the best, also worth trying getting an “in sole “ made for you by the local podiatry dept.I know it’s a post code lottery as far as podiatrist treatment is concerned but worth a try

Thank you. I had Sketchers a few years back and the podiatrist told me they didn’t support my foot enough. I’m currently wearing shoes that make my feet swell ( Dr Martens ) so I’d happily swap now! Xxx

Sketchers do lots of different styles now, some more supportive than others so it’s worth a look.

I find Ecco shoes fit me extremely well. I don't have particularly tricky feet, except that they are small - like the rest of me really. Well, apart from my ego. :)

Have you asked to be referred to podiatry? They would be able to advise on orthotics to help with your challenges. If your GP won't refer, it could be worth a consultation with someone in private practise.

I think that perhaps Fitflop or Sole Bliss shoes are worth considering.

My podiatrist both gave me orthotics and gave me a note to take to a particular shoe shop he recommended that specialise in foot care. I ended up with specific sandals tovwear inside the house and orthotics for my shoes / walking boots. My feet have been fine since then so I am a podiatridt fan.
