I do not have diabetes
Hey this is my first post here, I have never been diagnosed with diabetes but I am concerned and need to know if this warrants a dr visit, I can't afford to be going to one a lot.

I've been feeling a little wierd/out of it the last few weeks, I thought I was possibly vitamin deficient but I've been taking a strong multi for a few weeks now, I also tried taking iron which didn't help.

I was reading about the signs of low blood sugar/hypoglycemia the last few nights so I went out and bought one of those home blood sugar test kits.

Last night after work I tried it for the first time and it said my blood sugar was 57, I immediately retook it and was at 77, then a few minutes later 71 then 68 I was using different fingers I don't know how that would effect the results.

Awhile after eating a big meal I was up to 117, this morning I was at 97 and I just took it a few minutes ago again after work and was at 71. I was making a conscious effort to keep my blood sugar up today, I was suckin on various hard candy's and had 2 8 oz apple juices throughout the day?!

Looking for any advice/input

Hi, we can't diagnose your symptoms by them figures alone.
The reason is, the timing of the test is important.
We usually test pre meal and either one hour or two hours after first bite.
Was the early morning test a fasting one?
The symptoms you have could be almost anything or nothing.!

If you are worried you should see your doctor.

You will get different results from different fingers as your blood is circulating all the time and your glucose levels are changing with it. Meters aren't absolutely 100% accurate either so you may well get some variations in results. Different foods will also affect levels too, so you should really test as @nosher8355 has advised if you want meaningful results.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It's probably better to get blood tests for deficiencies and then target individual vitamins or minerals. Iron or other things may take weeks or months to show an effect on how you feel, and retesting may be helpful. Iron in particular can cause problems if you have too much in your body, so I would suggest not taking iron supplements unless you have seen blood test results saying you don't have enough. Iron overload is fairly common because it can be genetic. Another imbalance that can cause tiredness is thyroid hormone levels.

Low blood pressure can often feel the same as low blood sugar. You can test it at home but the professional devices are more reliable.

There are at least about 30 medical conditions that can be tested for that cause tiredness so I recommend seeing your doctor.
