I have been taking Januvia for 2 weeks now. No appreciable change to my swings in blood sugars but...

I have headaches, diarrhea and itchy skin which stops me form sleeping. Should I give it longer??

Hi, I take januvia.
I would make an appointment with your GP to discuss if a different gliptin would help with your blood glucose levels.
I get the odd night with itching but I had it before taking the meds.
I take an antihistamine to help stop the itching!

Metformin causes the diahorrea, and the headaches could be anything, especially if your blood glucose levels are high.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I, too, take antihistamines to little effect.

I stopped metformin 2 months ago and switched to a slow release version which did not help. The diarrhea stopped but the wild swings did not.

Will make a GP appointment.

You maybe one those who cannot cope with metformin, no matter how it is taken.
How high are you blood readings two hours after eating?

Do you think you could cope without the meds, have you got good control?
Discuss this with your GP!

I'm surprised your GP didn't prescribe you the combination drug of januvia and metformin. Janumet, it is called.
There will be an alternative to the januvia and metformin.

Best wishes.
