Should I take the PreOp drink?

Hi, I'm having day surgery on Saturday afternoon and at my pre-operative assessment yesterday they gave me some PreOp to drink before 11am on the day of surgery. As this drink says it isn't suitable for diabetics I don't know if I should take it. I was told that I was glucose intolerant about 10 years ago, but after discussions with my doctor I came off the bendrofluazide because it could have been causing false blood sugar reading and my blood results since then have been in the 'normal' range. I've phoned the makers helpline to be told to ask the doctor, phoned the surgery to be told that they don't have a specific nurse or doctor who could help me, phoned the pre-op assessment ward to be told they don't know! Any advice please would be appreciated.

I took it for a day procedure about 18 months ago, was told by nursing staff, they knew I was diabetic and if there was a problem they had a bed ready for me to stay in overnight. I did have to stay in but not because diabetes but a known problem with anaesthesia and my other panc problems
