Hi guys I need a bit of advice
Recently I was really ill, my blood levels were really high and I had no energy to do anything for about 5?days. I think I might have had ketoacidosis however I didn't go to hospital i increased my insulin and tried to sleep it off for which seemed to have worked. Ive really been struggling with my diabetes since I moved out for university. I missed 5 days of university and ended up missing important deadline. I need a sick note to prove that I was ill I don't don't think my doctor will write me one since there's no actually prove that I was ill, what should I do??

Perhaps go see your GP explain what has happened and show proof of blood sugars, if you don't ask you don't get.

Hi, you should of gone to hospital tbh, a sick note after the event with no proof? I don't think is going to work. You must try to look after yourself, as it could of been very serious for you.

Take care RRB

Also if you have not contacted a GP they will not backdate a sick note, they will only date it from the day you were in the doctors!

I'd agree with all that's been said before, but it's probably still worth a chat with your GP. Your meter will corroborate your readings, I hope. He may be able to write a letter, or you may be able to write a factual report of the circumstances, which he may be able to confirm is a credible account of events, and how things might have gone (befuddled rationale/extreme fatigue/disorientation) based on your readings.

It's a longer shot, but you have little to lose in asking.
