Insulin
Last night I was physically sick and feeling under the weather. Today I didn’t eat until late when I injected for the first time, the correct insulin for what I ate. Yet my levels have remained high during the day 12-17. Do I not worry and put it down to feeling a bit under the weather and see what happens tomorrow or do I do a correction dose. It’s the first time since I was changed to T1 and put on insulin I’ve been ill so not sure what to do. Thank you.

Hey MissMJ73 I believe you need to follow the DAFNE sick rules, adding a percentage of insulin on top of your lunch for illness as this will increase your BS, I’m sure others will add info to this post for you! Keep hydrated and just be wary of ketones.

Your blood sugar could still be raised due to the bug but, no matter what the cause is, you should test for ketones if your BG is 14 or more.
In those circumstances I would correct if my BG was in double figures. Just make sure you don't have active insulin on board.
