Hey!!!

I have recently opened a new box of my infusion set's and have noticed a couple of things that don't seem "normal" to me :? im saying that because the box i've opened is only my 2nd box of silhouette's...

The sticky bit isnt that sticky (am using medical tape to make sure it stays stuck) so i know that's not right, but I was wondering about the tubing... Im now on my 3rd set in less than 48 hours and the tubing isnt smooth or clear, i know this question is probably stupid but heyho... is this normal :?: :!: :?: im asking because my sugars have been "weird" over the last 24 hours, ie low all night and not been able to get them under 12 all day today and was wondering if it could be a dodgy batch of infusion sets that have sent me off :)

Nowadays I ask Accuchek (different from yours), for different batch numbers for every order (for example if I ask for 4 boxes-I ask that they are all different batch munbers) so if I find problems with a box of rapid ds- I know that I can try another batch number.

Personally from my experience I would notify manufacturer and DSN immediately and ask for rpelacements. They should ask for the sets back to test....and send you labels etc to send them back FOC. I would ask DSN if she has any spares to tide you over until new batch numbers arrive...and would specifically explain problems to manufacturer AND make sure I had different batch numbers.

I've used silhouettes for 3 years now. The amount of adhesive does seem to vary. The last lot seemed to stick far more than usual ,however the tubing has always been clear (except for tiny bits where maybe it has been bent)

Hi Dragonflye

DD's advicesounds right - tho obviously I'm no expert having only practised with 2 Silhouettes! Definitely doesn't sound right that the tubing isn't clear and rather a coincidence that your sugars have gone weird at the same time.
