Simple Low Carb snack

Get a bag of plain pumpkin seeds....toast them with salt sprinkled over them in a large frying pan till they are golden....let them cool down then bag them up or throw them in an airtight box till you fancy a nibble while watching tv or maybe at work. 50g serving = 2.2g carb....3.2g saturated fat...13.2g protein....7.6g fibre so all in all a reasonably healthy snack you can make yourself. I have bagged them up in 50g portions and 25g portions . I shook them in a sieve to shake off the excess salt but they retain just the right amount to make them yummy

I use these as a topping for cabbage.... works a treat.
 
Sorry for being a muppet - how long do you toast (dry fry?) them for? I have given this a go and find I end up seemingly burning them?

You have to watch and move them around, they will start to pop like "popcorn" and when they look at bit done, they're done.
