Simplera Sensor

My first 2 failed early but since then they have all been good.. I do now wear on the abdomen

I think most Medtronic sensors have been know for these troubles

Yeah, I know recently I've had a number of issues with 'sensor updating' and sensors dying with the G4's, am hoping that the Simplera's are better for me when my hospital can prescribe them (and get their fingers out to actually do so - that'll be the bit that takes the time)

I started 780 and Simplera on August 27 , yes I had problems on some sensors not lasting full 7 days or not reading , I found it was the placement of sensors - I was putting them too far back or not where there was a lots of fluid , the alarms are bothersome but it is worth sticking with it , it does get easier as the pump algorithm learns , I still have alarms but I do calibrate when asked , and sometimes the pump won’t accept the BS reading and I have to repeat in 15 mins ( once 4 time ) but I guess it because my BS rise and fall rapidly . I now glad I have this pump my Hb1 result has gone from 98 Aug to 64 last week ( I have never ever been under 70 in 30 years , pumping 10 years .

This is interesting. I have had the Simplera for 1 week and already gone through 3 sensors. They just stop working without notice. So you can wear them on your abdomen? Might try that. Apart from this issue I am totally in love with it.

I am having problems with the sensors failing completely or disconnecting. Re connection can be a long and tedious business. When the system is working it's great, but I'm being woken up by alarms. Re connection and finger pricking to calibrate is tedious.
Anyone else using Simplera and ble to comment?

I would like to know the procedure you use to re-connect to a simplera sensor?

From reading the above, it sounds as though it is worth trying placing the Simplera sensor on the abdomen if one is having problems with sensors expiring before 7 days. Is this the case? I'm on my 7th sensor now in just under a month - all of them have lasted between 3 and 5 days only, even though I carefully choose a site on the underside of my arm which has fat.

Does anyone have any suggestions? 2 weeks later, and I still haven't had one sensor which has lasted the whole 7 days.

I really hope everyone''s issues will be solved soon!
Of course Medtronic should be able to give solutions to all possible problems.
THEY are reading here too.
Unless you are a true giant the sensor on your upper arm should be able to connect to your pump when it is in your trousers pocket on the same side of your body.
If somehow the transmission is disturbed during the night these devices should be designed in a such a way that they will reconnect automatically without waking you up. Coming from a country that has been sending people to the moon for decades to execute the strangest experiments at such a big instance it is rather weird to have disconnecting devices intended for healthcare.
I did see on the internet that Minimed is busy with a pump that needs a mobile phone to work properly. It seems they are making things that i dont want to have. Imagine a malicious '' power '' decides to mess up the algorithm of all the pumps in the Uk. Remember the big number of self driven cars malfunctioning some time ago. Scary!
