Please note, that as of Feb 2010 the Statin drug companys are having to update their list of side effects to include:

Depression, memory loss, sexual dysfunction and sleep disturbances.

These are very real symptoms, and the companys have now been forced to tell patients of ALL the major side efects.

I stopped taking Simvastatin a while back and they changed me to Rosuvastatin. I've since stopped taking all statins - and I won't be taking 'em ever again. I've since found out that Vitamin D, and Fish Oil (Omega 3 ALA, ELA & DHA) are very good at reducing cholesterol and Trigs. I've just ordered some fish oil - I'll report back after I've been taking them for a couple of months.

I can honestly say, though, that I feel much better for not taking the statins.

I lost almost a decade of my life due to simvastatins. I now have it back now I have stopped taking this debilitating drug, although I still have some pains-I now have my memory back, my depression has gone, even my B12 levels have returned to normal, and I no longer need B12 injections every 3 months.

I take 3000mg of Vit C everyday (60mg only wards off scurvy), as this is meant to elaticate your areteires and veins. I also take COQ10, extra strength omega 3 and selenium and chromium........and also plant sterol tablets and marg, drinks.

They give out statins in the same way they used to give out thalidimide drugs in the early 60's. I hope that everyone who has side effects of any statin will report it on the MHRA website. I personally believe the drug should be banned from mass prescribing as the GP's are doing now.
