Sitagliptin?

Just been put on this today, but I'm worried as doctor has just told me it WILL cause hypo's! Surely if that's the case I shouldn't be put on it?

Ive bn on it 2 months. Not had hypo cos of that but due to orther drug ive bn given. Its a clever drug it only works when to much sugar in blood then stops when at a gd level where my other glimepiride maked to pancreas work harder to mske insulin and continues to do hence hypos if not eaten carbs for hours.

I'm currently on metformin 3 times a day, glicazide 3tablets once a day then this new one. They did say that by the results I'm receiving it may be that my body has stopped making the insulin

Well then with them others u could get hypos then. Im metformin siltagliptin and glimepiride but BS still not within range. Bn tested for type 1 but neg so they want to try victoza injections soon.

Been told if this don't work I will start injection in 2 weeks...... They are saying that they think I may not be producing insulin any more
