Skin problems?

I had a slight dryness on my right digit but that has cleared up, it was nothing like my feet. My swimming socks were completely smooth, only trouble with them was I found my feet got overheated in the middle of the night, one night I pulled them off and dropped them on the cat (she wasn't impressed) cling film and thick weird fish socks seem to be the way for me at the moment.

They sound good for me though, my feet are freezing even with dressings and socks on all the time, so will definitely look for different latex socks
 
Ask your doctor if you can try flexitol, is a high urea content balm and will sort out dry cracked feet in no time! Recommended for diabetic foot care according to the label.
 
I have had feet like that even before I was diagnosed diabetic. I use Flexitol "Heel Balm"
25% urea. mIt is brilliant . Takes a few days to get going, but after that, no probs, works on split fingers as well

Persevere, it does take a while to have the effect first off - after that you can use less often.
 
Think I've found out what my feet problems are, more by luck than knowledge, at this stage I think it's a condition called PPP, which is palmar planter psoriosis which is apparently linked to diabetes and liver disease, from the information I have found it indicates that it can be treated with UVB treatment and creams and lotions, one cream that kept appearing in a site was Derma Rescue and seemed to be quite a few people's saving Grace! Fingers crossed I will somehow manage to get mine sorted.
 
10mils olive oil, 2 drops tea tree & 7 drops lavender oil will work wonders for psoriasis.
 

I have PPP and that was the first thing I thought of when I saw your photo, but you usually get pustules with it.
there is another similar condition, Palmoplantar Keratoderma (PPK) which from what I can find is very similar with the thickening and splitting skin but doesn#t appear to have the pustules.
The only way to be sure is to see a dermatologist who can often tell by sight, but they usually take a small biopsy to make sure.
I know quite a lot about PPP having had it for 10 years, but know very little about PPK so I don't even know if the treatment is the same.
For comparison, here's a photo of my feet when the pustules are first coming through, after a few days they start to dry out and that's when the skin starts to thicke, and when that eventually peels off it leaves red skin for a few more days till the next lot of pustules come through. There are many different treatments for it, it's just a matter of trial and error unfortunately. But I will say that most GPs don't know much about PPP so it really does need to be seen by a dermatologist, have you got your appointment yet?

Depends what sort of psoriasis. To be honest I don't think that would do anything for ppp although it looks helpful for the usual plaque psoriasis. they're 2 entirely different things and they only 'think' ppp is a form of psoriasis, it's more commonly known as Palmolantar Pustulosis.
 
Still waiting for an appointment as the only ones avaliable last week were late June, I've had a bad weekend where I've been so depressed because the pain and soreness has literally made it unbearable to walk
