I am not sure how that would work? @NicolaB70
Do you mean you put the adhesive part of the plaster on top of the skin tag? How do you know it is ready to remove?
I use one of those small plasters but make sure it's sticky all the way around and put the cushioned part ever the skin tag. I normally leave it for 5-7 days and remove plaster. I've found that as long as no air gets inside the plaster the tag dries up and falls off. I've had the odd occasion that it's not worked when it's been a big one but I just put another plaster on and leave it again. Another way I know if it's worked is when I first put the plaster on I can feel a bobble underneath plaster, if you know what I mean and if after a few days I can't deal the 'bobble' then it's usually dried up. The plaster also has to be quite tacky to get the good seal

Of course we're only talking about DIY with skin tags - not those little red blemishes you can get on your tummy and arms through being insulin resistant and prediabetic. I'm sure no-one would be daft enough to try DIY surgery on those ;). If you did I 'think' maybe they would bleed for a long time and then form a big scab and grow back 4 times as big......not that I would know because I wouldn't have been that daft now would I?...........:rolleyes::bag:

Had one on my leg, used cotton to "strangle" it. Blood flow stopped, it shrivelled, dropped off and has never returned :)

Thanks, that seems the least dramatic for a wuss like me.

Jeez, now the hypochondriac wussiness is making me go inspect in case I have any little red blemishes. Never noticed any before, but hell, one never knows.

Local or general anaesthetic?
Hypnosis, perhaps?
All three may be best with plenty of gas and air!!!
Local to numb the area, hypnosis to actually rip it off and if all else fails, a full general to completely knock you out... pmsl

Think I'll leave my peppercorn/pea sized tag where it is. Sure would miss it if it went.

Think I would have been for the ducking stool in 16th century?

I'll be the only one who had hers removed by a consultant plastic surgeon then? My medical insurance was happy to pay. They haven't recurred (about 10 years ago).
