I want to know if this is normal. My husband as type 2 diebetes and doesnt control it very well, he also has excema and asthma but he's continually falling asleep. I mean he can get up and then be asleep downstairs the next minute.
He really does spend more time asleep than awake. Really feel like talking to doctors about him

Does he check his blood sugars. It could be a problem with high or even low sugars, but it does need investigation. Hope this helps.

Tiredness can be caused by high blood sugars. There is a condition called hyperglycaemia. Early morning glucose levels are often elevated due to the "dawn phenomenon" where the liver pushes out glucose into the blood.

If he has not got a glucose meter, then he needs to get one an measure first thing. He may need to change his diet if blood sugar levels are high. Drugs like Metformin can reduce blood glucose a little, but typically don't reduce them to normal levels.

Can you get your husband to join the forum and learn from it - no prizes for poor blood sugar control I'm afraid and having other conditions such as asthma will not help.
