hi .. I think I know the answer to this .. But could my wife's reasent mishap ( she fell off the bath and did a little damage to her self) could this stress cause my sugar readings to be raised ....
Advice welcome

Thanks, I thought this was going to be the answer .. But needed to read it .... I will tell her to stop doing back flips off the edge of the bath as it affects my sugars .... She is black and blue with bruises.. But still insists on cooking my dinner as I will only cook carbs in her view !Yes is the short answer. Any stress can adversely affect BG by upsetting the adrenaline/insulin balance. I hope your wife (and your stress) recover soon.
Yes that's what hubby wants to cook for me tooI do a good baked beans on toast. where's the carbs in that ! ... So the wife has banned me from the kitchen as well![]()
Yes, the 2nd option definitely sounds best.Just tell him you will only eat it (beans on toast) if he eats 5 tablespoons of raw sugar on top of his dinner .... Your ok if he's not got a sweet tooth
Or come round to mine the wife will cook LoL
I am slim (ish) to now, lost 4 and a half stone since starting my LCHF way of eating .. That's from Jan this year ... Have another few stone to go before socity sees my weight as normal for my hight.. Still off of the meterfarting nowYes, the 2nd option definitely sounds best.He probably would manage the 5 tablespoons of sugar on his dinner!
He once ate a 6-pack of Snickers bars in one evening (yes he's slim!
)

I am luckie I can eat 100g or 4 oz of roasted potatoes or home made chips .. Yum ... But that's my carb allowance for that meal ... The wife cooks with a set of scales and a calculator now !I miss bread a little, but potatoes are the thing I miss most, but other than that like you say, LCHF is a fairly easy way to lose weight and control BG's.![]()
Thank you .. But it's all down to the wife reading these forums .. I would still be on the eat well plate with carbs every meal, like the DBN told me to do ! But the wife can overrule my Dr any day ! My sugars went from mid 6's when told I was Db to high 20's eating what I was told to eat in the Dr's .. ( the Nice guide lines ) Now down to mid 5's eating what the wife gives me. Must add I am T2 and (vegetarian) LCHF works for me ..Low carb certainly makes weight loss much easier and the reduced BG levels are a welcome addition. Fantastic achievement on the huge weight loss. Stories like this are replied by only a few but many others read and gain inspiration.
That's amazing! Well done to both you and your wife.Thank you .. But it's all down to the wife reading these forums .. That's amazing! Well done to both you and your wife.I realized the NICE guidelines were bad......but not that bad!.......your BG's were in the 20's because you followed NHS advice!
That is so daft, if it wasn't so serious it would be funny.
Yes I'm T2 as well, (but not vegetarian)

My DNS disowned me when I went LCHF. I was referred straight on to the hospital! Clearly trouble. Now I am thinner than her. If she sees me in the surgery she asks me if I am still persisting with that diet and lots of testing. To which I reply yes, trying not to smirk. Bad Scandi!That's amazing! I love granary bread .. Wife needs the scales to weigh the carb amounts.Bread. I definitely miss bread. But the proper stuff not the cheap white plastic stuff! Though I am currently eating nothing at the mo as I appear to have a stomach bug and daren't eat anything! Felt ill preparing dinner for family including in laws and I am a gall who likes her food. Last thing I ate was a piece of cheese and some nuts at 13:30. Couldn't sit at table. Smell made me feel ill. Tried lying down but felt so much worse. I better have lost weight tomorrow or I'm going to sulk! Don't care for pots apart from crisps and chips. Chips are not too bad so I have a toddler portion once in a blue moon. Don't weigh anything apart from me. The beauty of LCHF!
