Hi I'm prediabetic and my fasting were quite high at 7 plus, managed to cut carbs so getting low 6 readings but if I have a blip and eat some carbs in the evening my fasting always shoots right up again, is this normal? Would my body really keep all that extra sugar that long? Confused as it could certainly fool a blood test if it did that.

Yes, late-night snacks add extra calories and you may wake up the next morning with a high blood sugar level.

Yes, I find my fasting is the slowest to come down and the quickest to rise. This is perfectly normal.
