NHS give completely wrong advice.
Hi Guys
I have recently had a small operation on my little finger.... It became infected within about 8 days and I have had to have a course of penicillin. seems to be healing now, although slowly.

A friend of a relative of mine who is a nurse, said that the healing process is slowed because of the low carb diet that I am following....
She said I have to up my carb intake to about 200 a day.

I told her she was talking rubbish and that I had to keep my Blood Glucose as low as possible????

Was I right?

I doubt it's the low carb diet. There's nothing in carbs which is essential to healing. It's more likely to be blood glucose that's too high.
If you regularly get BG readingws of 6 and above, I'd say it's too high. Bacteria LOVE sugar, so that's my guess

I suffer the same thing, a nick of the finger or bruise of the arm take aprrox. 4 times longer (T1) to heal from my own experience, being diagnosed at 33, now being 36. Look after yourself. Btw, you can get chinese healing balm from poundland and I find this helpful. My experience only!
