Hey everyone
Just a question do u all get fobbed off when asking ur doctor if u can the new smart pens, I have ones that don't the units I have taken as battery have went on them, I don't know many times I have asked if I can have new ones, and possibly have the new smart pens, just falls on deaf ears....my memory is tje greatest after suffering a stroke, so the pens showing me my units helps me, now I have nothing on them, as battery has went, I know I can write it down, just again I'd prob forget where I have written down. Has anyone else had docs ignoring it thanks

I can’t help with the pens as I not familiar with them as a T2 diet controlled, my practice has a prescription manager and she’s been amazing sorting certain things for myself & especially my hubby when the GPs or nurses don’t have time/forget, she actually contacted my hubby’s consultant to discuss a change of brand for one of his meds. I don’t know if that would be available at your surgery or maybe try the practice manager, make sure you mention how you struggle because of your stroke

Hi,

Mine are listed on my prescription.

I haven’t needed to order one in a long time.
But I have a couple of spares & reorder when the main pen goes down.

I always take a spare pen if on holiday just incase I lose one or it breaks.
I only ever lost one once. But that was at work & someone had handed it to security/reception.
