Type 1 Smoking

The study was actually not changing food. Just the effects that smoking had on our system. Just the lack of nicotine and change in response. I was very sure to not eat more, especially carbs.

Be advised. I'm not indicating anyone should not quit smoking. Simply sayimgmsometimes it's not all on us!!! Everything changes everything. At least for me

I quit smoking 15 years ago... long before my T2 diagnosis. Before quitting, I had smoked for 26 years... averaging around a pack a day... but sometimes as much as 2 packs. Contrary to what I hear so many say... quitting was easy for me. Here is my secret to success:

Once you snuff out the last cigarette... never light up another! That's it! Piece of cake. :happy:.

OK. It's really not that simple. But it IS easy. You have to make a plan for how to distract yourself from reaching for that cig. You need about 3-4 days of distractions. I took a some time off of work specifically to quit. I planned things that were not "smoker friendly" and then I simply quit.

I'm going to say something here that many might disagree with.. But it's such a serious topic that I am willing to risk hurting some feelings. I believe that it's counter-productive to tell folks, (that are contemplating quittting), that it is a difficult process. Because some may then decide the task too tough to try. It's not really that hard. It's all about perspective. I decided that I was not going to let tobacco get the best of me. I simply decided that the tobacco industry had taken enough of me and I was not going allow it to continue. Period. I convinced myself that I was a chump to "big tobacco" and that I was not about to let it continue.

Moral: It's your life. Take it back.

I would never imply smoking is healthy!! I hate it. But quitting is easier said than done and completely messes up my bs. Enough on my plate. Happy yours is emptier. Wish mine was...
I quited smoking like a year ago. i planned it way before but just didnt have a good reason to quit. Once i had that reason it was easier, u just need to be strict on urself. i literally just woke up one day and throwed out every cigs i had to make my life better. it took long to make the decision but now i cant imagine smoking every day, it would be just so bad for my health. i decided i want to take good care of my body. quitting can seem very hard but its far from impossible. now if i need to clear my head i go out jog some, do some exercise, it makes me feel so much better. not just to release stress but it actually makes me happy !

@MikeZ i agree.

i believe that everyone can do it, but u need to make the decision urself, thats the thing nobody can do for u but u only.
hope everyones having a great day ! (:
