Hi has anyone found a snack bar that's ok. Just looked in health food shop and was totally confused. Just wanted something to be left in work or handbag as a back up.. Not for blood sugar drop, I don't usually bother have fruit, nuts etc but having just found old apple in bag!!! thought I would ask. Or should I not bother? Thank you.

Hi, I eat 9 bars ( because they are free from certain ingredients) I love them and I know type 2's like them and most can eat them with little or no rise in their BS. You can buy them in supermarkets individually or they come in a 4 pack box, and these are slightly smaller.
Best wishes RRB

While most ppl are fine with 9 bars (me!), I think we've had at least one person who found that they sent their blood glucose higher than they wanted.

So always worth testing what they do for you!

I hesitate sometimes to ask, as its not serious as such, but I always get a good answer straight away so thank you.

thank you I will do just that much appreciated.

They come in different varieties, original, peanut, pumpkin, flax and one with fruit in it, but I dont touch that one. There are probably other varieties too :)

I had one today with stewed rhubarb and double cream, so they are pretty multi-purpose! ;)
Wow ! I never thought of doing that - it sounds lush ! :D

I love 9 bars as they are so portable, and it was you, @ Brunneria that first, entitled them to me , thanks :)

There is a slight carb difference between the different varieties, not enough to make much of a difference in theory ( exception being the fruit one ) but in reality one may spike you more than another, others not at all.

I'm sure I have some rhubarb in the freezer .....
