Do you take insulin with your snacks? Or are you looking for something to snack on without insulin?
The advice I was given was you could have up to 15g carbs as a snack between meals without insulin. This would be a biscuit or packet of crisps or an apple (but not a banana).
Or you could take insulin to avoid the spike.
Alternatively, try low carb snacks such as nuts.
Itsu crispy seaweed thins (wasabi flavour)from Sainsbury's Each small pack = 0.6g carbs/22 calsHiya does anyone know of any tasty snacks a diabetic type 1 can have? I have yet to find a tasty snack that doesn’t spike my sugar levels after and hour or 2 of eating them (e.g biscuits, crisps etc)
Just had some guacamole as dip with a stick of celery.Hiya does anyone know of any tasty snacks a diabetic type 1 can have? I have yet to find a tasty snack that doesn’t spike my sugar levels after and hour or 2 of eating them (e.g biscuits, crisps etc)
