hi all well today i have had my dinner and tea and now i am feeling a little peckish as i do most days was wondering what you all eat as snacks??? i eat used to eat choc and sweets and stuff but i cant have them now ofcorse so i wondered what you all eat when you get the munchy???

Hey tolsn!

I eat mixed nuts, cheese or olives usually.

Smidge

ok well dont like almonds or cheese so there out?? hhhmmmm need more ideas?

Sugar free jelly with or without a little splash of cream. Ham parcels, slices of ham with a dollop of Philly cheese wrapped up. Small handful of berry's (test after + hours to make sure you can tolerate them) If you can, you could add a little Greek yogurt.

Rather than pour cream over the jelly, whisk them both together and have mousse!

I eat loads of nuts. Cold hard boiled eggs with salt. Pork scratchings. Atkins daybreak choc bars(they say 2 net carbs per bar. Not sure if that's right, but don't affect my BG), home-made "almost bountys" from whitbyjet's recipe.

In addition to what others have already suggested: cold chicken drumstick or cold meats, cucumber carrot and celery sticks with an avocado dip.

Oh yes, Jeanne's special jelly mousse, I forgot about that.

I found the recipe, but I did used to make something similar with yoghurt.

oohhh yeah could get some cucumber and cut into sticks i used to do that as a kid what other dips are we able t have? not too keen on avacado :?
now i like the sund of jelly and cream wipped together might just have to give that a go when i go shopping and get some lol!

it doesnt usually bother me but for some reason today i just feel really hungry and want all the things i now i cant have :? not sure if its just a blip or if its couse my daughter (age 6) has had a major paddy and has been like it for a couple of days! is was like this before xmas and everything came to a head and my dr put my anti depressions up to 2 a day and she seemed to calm and we coped and found ways to deal with paddys if she had them but this last wk or so shes gone right back down to where we were and really getting me dwn so not sure if its a bit of wanting to comfort eat or not!!! :?

really sorry went off subject there abit! but i think i needed to get that out xxx

I turn to food to feel better as well. We need to find another thing to help us instead.

I'm not sure what other dips are suitable, my daughter likes avocado so that's what we are used to. I don't think the others would be very high in carbs and if you only have a little then it shouldn't add up to much.

I too comfort eat, used to be the 3 c's , chocolate, crisps and cake. After coming on here I nibble on nuts and seeds or cheese on apple . :)

Cheese and celery or if I' feeling really daring a few Ritz crackers and cheese and celery. Burgen toast with sugar free peanut butter, burgen toast and pate.

I snack on nuts, carrot and celery sticks with a LITTLE low fat dip, apples, the occasional small banana, ryvita crackers are nice with some tomatoe on top...cold meat is also good
