I have just left the doctors being told I have reversed my type 2 diabetes after 2 years of hard work
a healthy diet and a 3.5 stone weight loss I have achieved in 2 years what I thought would take 3
all my blood tests have been lower than the previous set of results, For all those people aiming to
reverse their type 2 if you work hard and persevere you can do it, if I can do it anyone can

Was your doctor amazed and astounded? most are when you show them successes like that.
Care to share your healthy diet tips?

Congratulations! I'm so, so happy for you. I was diagnosed about 7 months ago, and I am working to reverse it as well. I'm going through a rough patch right now (insomnia), but it's good to be reminded as much as possible that it can be done.

Well done. As soon as I've found out why I can only lose weight on a 800 calorie a day diet, I might be saying the same thing one day. The weight loss is great, but don't forget what caused the weight gain. It could be eating too much, or eating the amount of carbs recommended by a good many medical practitioners. I'm not deliberately trying to put a downer on your fantastic achievement, but I was reminded of a skinny friend who tried to tell me that you only had eat less and exercise more to lose weight. There's just a little bit more to it than that.

Congratulations! Well done, you are now officially allowed to go out and buy yourself something shiny!

I echo other members' congratulations - it's so encouraging to hear good news like yours! Fantastic! I have my second set of tests coming up (I wasn't given any stats but definitely will ask this time) and I'm hoping just three months of low-carbing (not testing) can make a difference. Fingers crossed this cursed insomnia (snap, @oldsle) doesn't skew the results.

When I was diagnosed 2 years ago my readings were at a really really high level
my readings today were

HbA1c - 44mmol/mol - Target Less than 59
Blood Pressure - 113/63 mmHg - Target Less Than 130/80
Cholesterol - 3.6 mmol/L - Target Less than 4
BMI - 24 - Target less than 25

Persevere with hard work it WILL be well worth it in the end
