Diet only
Been on diet and exercise for sometime now. Diet is remarkably the same... looking through my meals / BG's each week for the last 18 months have been nearly the same. Today was the first time in over two months I did not have celery, olives and nuts for breakfast... had some yog and nuts. Due to child care situation four nights a week we eat our evening meal pretty late and waiting for two hours after to test to get more or the same number over and over is proving a bit of challenge, when all I want to do is get son to bed, so we can all crash. I could test after an hour... but decided against and so just going to test FBG and see how they go... so far it has been okay.
The fear is that I let my diet slip...
and over the weekend on the saturday I had some spag bol, which was okay and on the sunday I made an apple pudding, almond flour with quite a lot of sugar... I didn't really enjoy the spag bol like I used to and didn't touch the apple pudding, there was one untouched for the wife and son to share on Monday... I did make some really good 90% choc/double cream lemon thyme chocolates, which seem to sort my pudding need.
Just thought I would share my life as a T2.
Luck to all

Oh I have done it again hankjam. I meant to press the Winner button/ Your numbers are so impressive! A few years ago I cut out my daily KitKat (nothing to do consciously with diabetes) and bit into one
years ;later - So so sweet and ghastly.

I speed read Dr Fung's new fasting book last week and he mentioned that there was some thought that eating late could be bad for Type 2's. He seemed to think that Insulin resistance was 25% greater in the evening. At least I think that's what he said. Might be better to have a larger meal at lunchtime and then a lighter evening snack? Would be an interesting experiment if you fancied it.

Yes I knew that - Not just Diabetics. The French and Italian eat big lunches and little in the evening.

You can undo the "rating" on the far right hand side of the posters rating bar..
Thanks to your recommendation, I've been learning "IT".

"Daily Kit Kat"?? Good on you for ditching it. But I was lead to believe you never partook in "junk"..

Sometimes one needs to take a break from the focus on the "goal" to stop the eye strain..

No Kit Kat reference intended in the above... :)

Stop it! Now I really want a KitKat! Or a Mars. Or a Snickers... I am destined to be wobbly forever! :D

I'm in the mood for bacon, but don't wanna wake the dog up... :hungry:

Many years ago I heard that.. Not the reference to T2. But in general.
It was better to have a light evening meal.. Big suppers probably have become more "culteral" than a necessity?.?

My logic has always been that, apart from washing up, there is little physical activity done after an evening meal, you dont even have to get off you lardy butt to change channels. Whereas the afternoons after lunch are probably the most physically active for many, if not most. But for a lot of people the family only comes together at the end of the work/school day, and an evening meal is the only opportunity for everyone to 'catch up'
I have been pedalling my exercise bike gently for just 10 minutes an hour after dinner, just to force my muscles to take up the glucose sloshing about
