If you have a Solihull GP the Community Diabetes Service is running the 6 week X-PERT structured education program.

Do you want to increase your skills and confidence in looking after your Diabetes? The X-PERT programme is a six week course, run by the Community Diabetes Service, to help you learn more about looking after yourself with Type 2 Diabetes. It is relaxed, fun and hands on course. There is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, as well as discussions to swap information and meet other people with diabetes. You are welcome to bring a family member or friend with you.

X-PERT Topics
Week 1 – What is Diabetes?
Week 2 – Managing your Weight.
Week 3 – Carbohydrates and effect on Blood Glucose.
Week 4 – Reading Food Labels.
Week 5 – Preventing Complications of Diabetes.
Week 6 – Summary.

It is run in two locations; Central Solihull and Marston Green and there are daytime and evening courses through the year. You can be referred by your G.P or self refer to the department.
