Some good news today

My last HBA1C reading was 61 (late last year) and I was taking Metformin and it was making no difference.

Last year I signed up to a diabetes trial over a 6-month period. Turned up I was part of the placebo group and no change to HBA1C. At the end of the trial the professor running it said I should try a more modern drug than Metformin and said I should try Dapagliflozin (I can only think this was the drug they were testing). He wrote to my GP and I have been taking that but HBA1C no better

Earlier this year I went to see a specialist about IBS. As part of the consultation he said I should be taking Semaglutide along side the Dapagliflozin. I’ve been taking both since January.

In January I was 15 stone 7lb with HBA1C at 61.

Current weight is 13 stone 13lb.

Just called doctor for most recent blood test, and HBA1C has come down from 61 to 49.

If you’re struggling with type 2 it’s well worth discussing this combination of treatment with your doctor.

That’s good news. I’ve tried low carb diets but doesn’t agree with me. The fasting does help. I’m not eating for 24hours from 7pm to 7pm and not feeling hungry. Think that’s the Semiglutide. Whatever works!

Good luck
