If we could all learn in the absence of experience, we'd never need driving instructors.
I believe the University of Life is the best you can attend.
So I'm giving you a ... pat on the back. After all I've been known to buy a 5-pack of doughnuts and demolish them.
And McDonalds' milkshakes used to be my favourite. Sometimes being mature and responsible sucks, but mostly it doesn't.

that is very true
i hardly ever have mcdonalds because of doing slimming world and thats like 4 days worth of syns but i just had to have it
i guess i can add it to the list of foods not to eat that i must start
i love the milkshakes, banana is my fave and i dip the fries in it
think ill do a food diary with my before and after readings and stick a list of what not to eat in my bag and on the fridge
well ive learnt my lesson i feel lousy now and extremely thirsty :(

Feeling lousy, thirsty, urinating all day and night, and seeing those high levels on your meter will all help enormously and hopefully stop you in your tracks next time.

By the way, you can have MacDonalds burgers - just ask for salad instead of the bun and fries.

Here you go... i side order of slap with your fries.

To err is human right. And if your conclusion was I wont do that again then that is a brilliant outcome!

Learning the hard way is, without doubt, the best way .. who wants to read blurb on a forum all the time ;)

just took another reading and its now 7.6
now can i stop drinking please i feel so bloated now lol

I think we've all done something like that at one time or another - I know I have. It takes something like that to show you exactly how well the low carb way of eating works. Just note it down in your food diary with the BG reading and how you felt after - and next time you feel like doing it (and there will be a next time) just flick to that page.

I used to LOVE McDonald's banana milkshakes but I've found a good extremely low carb subtitute - ice cold Alpro Roasted Almond Unsweetened Milk with no added sugar banana flavour Crusha - okay its got sweeteners in but it really hits the spot when you want a milkshake.

great idea the food diary ive just started one and noted it
is alpro soya? i cant have soya but do like unsweetened almond breeze milk

@licklemoose - No its almond milk - no soya. If you can get it the roasted almond one tastes better than the unroasted. :)
