Someone to talk to

Here's a good place to chat!
I don't know anyone in real life with diabetes so this alternative is just as good for me

Hello :)
That's true , this forum is so important , like a shelter for someone without an umbrella in a rainy day ..
Here we can see people talking about diabetes as we want to listen. I dont know anyone diabetic in real life , only this forum.
23, diabetic at +\-3weeks.

Hi Hannah, you'll find plenty of people to chat to on this forum, and when you need to know something, there's loads of help! I'm so glad I found out about it, and I'm sure you will be too.

One thing that occurs to me - have you ever been offered a DAFNE course by your doctor/diabetic care team? That's not only a great way to understand about controlling your diabetes, but you'll also meet other people with diabetes from your local area. I went on a course last year, and it has made such a difference, and being with other people who understand just what you have to deal with makes a refreshing change. We all got on really well, and several of us have kept in touch since.

Hannah, do you have a local branch of Diabetes UK? (If Bradford is where you live and not your surname you do.)
Our local has monthly meetings, usually with an interesting talk (not necessarily diabetes related, but sometimes by consultants), followed by socialising. They also have other social events like supper dances,'horse racing' etc and have a wide range of participants from children to pensioners.

I would be happy to chat with you Hannah. Have been diabetic since 5 years however mature now as in my 50's but lots of experiences good and sometimes bad over the years but still healthy.
