My friend, a 29-year-old asian woman, weighs 55 kg and is 166cm in tall. Her blood pressure (BP) is 100/60 mm Hg.
1 month ago, Her fasting plasma glucose was 6.48 mmol/L and HbA1c was 5.5%.
2 week ago, the results of oral glucose tolerance testing (OGTT):
__________________fasting____1 hour___ 2 hour___3 hour
glucose(mmol/L)__7.42______6.23_____7.27_____4.88
c-peptide(uIU/ml)_12.03_____37.3_____ 22.045___5.75

It's unreasonable! So OGTT was repeated 5 days ago.The results:
__________________fasting____1 hour____2 hour
glucose(mmol/L)__7.18______5.59_____6.95

The level of fasting plasma glucose was the highest in OGTT!
I want to know the reason. Who can help me? Thanks.

You want to know the reason for what??

Looking at the figures it seems that she has a bit of a problem in that her fasting levels would diagnose her as diabetic. The OGTT results would not give her an official diagnosis of diabetes but there is something not quite right.

Did she, in fact fast in accordance with the rules? If she did I think I would put her down as one to watch as a possible diabetic or at least a pre-diabetic.

The level of fasting plasma glucose the highest in OGTT.Why?
The level of 1-hour plasma glucose compared with fasting plasma glucose was decreased. Why?
