Sometimes I’d happily go back to using a syringe

I found that if you use the syringe to 'pull' out the insulin it gets more resistance the more you take out. If you use the pen to 'push' insulin into the syringe (I.e. the clicking dial up and push) the pressures are automatically equalized. You have to think about which way should be up as well, so you're transferring insulin not air.

Thank you for the great advice Seacrow. I meet with my GP this week to ask him to get me back on to syringes and all the info in this thread will greatly help me 'move back' to a way of injecting I always felt more comfortable with. Bill
 
Hi I went back on the syringe,much easier than pen (Autopen being discontinued 2025.)with all its unreliable issues.Leaking cartridges,not able to dial up enough Insulin in one go 42 units only.Having to turn the dial when it's in your leg etc was a bit much.Lot of other issues unreliable and awkward load of tat.
