Not sure if the above is related to my Diabetes??

I was on holiday and wore flip flops all of the time when I came home (two weeks ago) the ball of my foot was aching....it has now started to hurt everyday since and I have a burning sensation around my heel......

Has anybody had any similar experience and if so is there anything I can do to get rid of it???

Hi Bf.
Welcome to the Forum.

Foot Pain may or may not be related to Diabetes. It could just be as simple as the new 'flip-flops' are the cause ? There are many other causes which are not Diabetes related. You really need to see a Podiatrist or your GP about this.

Meantime, here is a link to a website with much information about Foot Pain, it's causes, treatment and other information. Have a read.

Thanks for the welcome Ken and also for your speedy response......a trip to the GP is on the cards I think!!

Although with a little focus on my Sugar Levels hoepfully I can get rid of the pain

Thanks Again

You should be able to refer yourself to the podiatry department at your hospital. Give them a call and ask

Podiatry is good.

You hold shoes and flip-flops on to your feet differently. it may be that you have been using differnt sets of muscles and a lack of support and cushioning from flip-flops may have resulted in strains that you would not get from shoes. This may resolve after a few weeks without any treatment.

You will need to be quite specific with your GP. I have pain in the ball of my foot after an accident a couple of years ago. It's symptoms are similar to a condition known as Morton's Neuroma and this was what my GP wanted investigated, rather than asking why I had pain. The consultant advised that I didn't have a Morton's Neuroma rather than finding out why I had pain.
