I'm sure I will eventually not need to ask so many questions but at the moment I have become obsessed with my diet and Blood Sugar levels....so to my question..... this morning I woke with quite a headache and stomach ache it was in my lower stomach and not something I have noticed before, I was also sweating quite a lot although I didn't feel hot, I very often wake up sweating and don't know why , I have read after searching on here about people sweating and headaches cause their sugar is low but checking mine it was 10.9...... a week ago it was 17 so with a change of medication and very low carbs it is reducing every day, any ideas what is causing this and how to combat it, or is it more likely to be unrelated
I get hot flushes now and then, and occasionally as described above, but have never related them to diabetes. Usually after eating or in the middle of the night.I could of rung my nightshirt out....
Yes, agree not too sure if it is DB related, started to log when I have them.... the dinner did involve pasta, which once a blue moon... twice cooked P and the numbers were not too bad...I get hot flushes now and then, and occasionally as described above, but have never related them to diabetes. Hi there, are you taking Metformin by any chance? That medication is notorious for causing discomfort in the gut. It can cause pain through inflammation. My numbers are coming down quite quickly or are they quickly ? maybe it's normal to go from 17 fasting a week and a half ago to 9.6 this morning, after lunch on Oct 28th when the DN checked it whilst showing me how to use the meter it was 21....after lunch today it was 7.1, I'm avoiding all obvious carbs and have had this stomach ache since Thursday night, it's my lower stomach and just uncomfortable, if it continues I will visit the doc, in all honesty it's doesn't seem so bad today so at the moment I am going with ' carb flu '. I really do appreciate all the help I am getting, without your responses I'd be stressing my brains out
Brilliant results so far @chefdee. Well done. I did have some unusual symptoms during my first 2 weeks on LCHF. I wouldn't describe it as carb flu, but yes I do remember being quite sweaty and having a few nights disturbed sleep. Stick with it, it gets better.
