Hi,

As the colder weather starts coming in, I feel the need for some soup. Can anyone please help me with some recipes? I used to really like the Heniz Big Soup, but obviously these have loads of potato in I can't have them anymore. Also I used to like Heniz chicken noodle soup, also now a no go. I do try to stick as few carbs a day as I can (Id say no more than 50g on bad days) and have noticed that most tinned soup is around 30g per tin.

So any suggestions of tinned but very low carb or some recipes please. I do have a slow cooker I could do stews in, also recipes for this would help too.

Thanks

Lenny, there are quite a few soup recipes in the low carb recipes folder, also have you tried wiflib's leek and chicken soup??
You can also make a chicken noodle soup = chicken bouillon, add chunky low carb veggies, chicken cut into chunks and just before serving add shirataki noodles (you can now buy them from H&B as well, so thats handy for some)

You can make comforting, creamy soups, eg courgette soup, just fry chopped onion in some butter, add sliced courgettes, salt, pepper, herbs, bouillon powder, a little bit of water, simmer for 10 mins, then puree with stick blender, add cream and its ready - you can do this with other veggies too, eg cauliflower, broccoli, or mixed veggies, throw in a carrot, just one wont make you spike, then puree but leave a few chunks and there you have a perfect wholesome thick veetable soup, a little curry powder or Magi liquid seasoning addes is nice as well.

Thank you WJ, I did a search but didn't really come up with much thats why I asked. I have just done another search and found loads. I must have been in the wrong place when I did my first search.

I plan to cook these and then I can have them for lunch at work. Salad is becoming less appealing. Glad I have a reasonable size freezer.

Hi Lenny3
There's a lot of good hints/ideas on the 'Healthy Soup for Autumn' thread you might have missed -
