soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
T1 husband is in hospital. Infected foot, injured in the 4:00am Hypo has become infected. In fact it's very swollen and has blistered. T1 is on IV antibiotics. Bg is still in the teens. Down from the twenties, so some improvement. He's now waiting until a podiatrist can come and treat it. While I was there this afternoon, a yyoung doctor came to take samples of the fluid in the blisters, to look for bugs.
I slipped in the suggestion that if he regularly had to deal with diabetics, he might recommend a reduced( note my tact!) carb diet to make control easier. he thought that made sense. Later, as I was leaving, I heard him in a discussion with a couple of nurses and a medical student. the student, was saying that she knew very little about diabetes. Lets hope she learns something in the next 2 years.Maybe she'll also remember what I said.

I have lost 2 pounds in the last couple of weeks. In between thw GREAT HYPO Monday and the hospital, I took 2 of my dogs to the post office with me on Friday and one had a Grand Mal seizure on the way home. I had to carry him back, with the other, very excied and curious on the lead. Luckily Italian Greyhounds weigh about 10 - 12 pounds. At least I can easily afford to lose the weight.

Thanks "dragon"
Gus is absolutely fine now. He's had one fit before, over a year ago and the vet says ge doesn't need any treatment.

Italian Greyhounds??? I know someone around these parts who has them. Just exactly like normal greyhounds but pocket sized.

It's plausible your new young doctor has not yet been corrupted by the legacy of Ancel Keys. There's a lot of information out there now.

Hope your hubby's foot can be mended soon.

You are lucky - my epileptic dog was an 8 stone golden retriever! Good training, though, as i am now responsible for a 16 stone epileptic human  Hope he is OK and doesn't have another seizure in the near future.

There's a lot tto be said for Italian greyhounds. and there's nothing quite like taking a tour of a Crufts ing with a first place winnwe. gus's grandmother. She was pocket sized, about 8 - 9 pounds, gus is bigger. His daughter Molly is almost 16 inches tall. that's big in Ig terms. And Boy! can she run
