Soya milk

Not sure this is appropriate for diabetes per se, but I went on Atkins for 10 weeks a couple of years ago, and switched out the milk in my 3 cups / day of coffee for full cream. The idea there was, no lactose (no sugar / carb - it's mostly fat), so it was allowed on Atkins. Atkins was also not calorie counting, so watch out for the increase.

Obviously if your milk needs aren't just for coffee, cream isn't your answer ;-)

Sweetened soy milk has about 6g of sugar added per 100ml.

If you use unsweetened soy milk it is better, 100ml of soy milk is not a lot, I have more than that in my almond porridge so the sugar can mount up.

Almond "milk" is not bad.

Another new, heavily processed food ( traditional cultures eat soy fermented). The price is ridiculously inflated. But if you like paying a lot for a box of water with a small handful of cheap beans...
Very few people in Europe of north European ancestry have a lactose intolerance, about 7%.
