Spider veins/thread veins Diabetes, LCHF or unrelated ?

I noticed them on my ankle about a month after my initial diagnosis and since then I've also noticed them on my cheeks and nose.

I can say with certainty they were not there 6 months ago but I cant be sure if they developed before I was diagnosed or after I changed to my LCHF diet to treat my Type 2.

Has anyone else noticed they had these and did it come from having diabetes or from switching to a LCHF diet ? or is just purely coincidence these have arrived around the same time I've gotten diagnosed ? My most recent Doc appointment told me I had reversed my Diabetes but my Cholesterol was elevated.

Also did they go away on their own or did you have to use some treatment.. The ankles are much worse but the face ones get me down much more.

Thanks,.

Could it be related to what you mentioned in your other thread where you mentioned dehydration (possibly related to coffee)?

I developed the ones on my face many years ago, when I was eating a very restricted diet- not enough foods with Vit C and bioflavonoids - partly an inherited tendency and partly poor diet in my case.

I don't know how those on a carnivore diet do, but I make sure I eat lots of green veg, green salads and a smaller amount of other above ground veg and salad items plus a few berries every day since going low carb.

Could well be !

4) Caffeine

Varicose/Spider veins are caused by high blood pressure within a vein; drinking too much caffeine can increase your blood pressure and the likelihood that you’ll get veins.

Im currently on second day without drinking coffee not quite managed to get myself off of a can or two of Pespi max yet but also drinking litres of water inbetween cans until i do :).

Did they resolve on their own once the diet was corrected or have you still got them ?
